This chapter reviews the past literature on ethics in the construction industry where much focus is given on the aspects of health and safety in low cost housing. Considering that this study focuses on the Chinese context, this chapter also explores the Chinese low cost housing industry. In the first part of this chapter, analysis of the ethical issues in the construction industry is developed where the key unethical practices and behaviours common in the construction industry are explored.
