Behaviourism  Underpinning Care in Mental Health Nursing Practice

Behaviourism theory is an approach used in the psychological examination of behaviour to inner mental states (Davison, Campbell and Shannon 2015). The theory is also a form of materialism which denies any independent significance for the person’s mind. In addition, behaviourism is concerned with the observable behaviour of a mentally ill patient, which are linked to his emotions and thinking.
