An Analysis of how Simplification Affects Decision Making

One of the major cognition biases that may impede how we make decisions is simplification. In essence, Simplification refers to the mental process of filtering out data that seems irrelevant and is an innate design meant to speed up processing of information and decision making. The problem with simplification is that it may lead to biases in the selection of information, and in the kind of information a decision maker pays attention to, and consequently significantly affects the quality of the decisions made.
