Today, genetic diseases are prevalent in a significant number of families. They are caused by an abnormality in the number of chromosomes or the mutation of a gene causing a faulty allele. Mutations are as a result of either random chance or due to exposure to mutagens e.g. ionizing, radiation, etc.
