In chapter 5. Boelstorff argues on how human life should be viewed descriptively rather than prescribing it. Here he mentions two different research approaches which are descriptive and prescriptive research. When he talks about the two approaches to the actual world events that have already happened, he tries to expound on how human beings ought to view certain processes in life.
