The scorecard is a strategic management measurement system invented by Robert Kaplan and David Norton 1992 (Maltz, Shenhar, and Reilly, 2003). The scorecard is used to measure strategic performance by identifying and improving internal functions of a business and the outcomes from the implementation of the strategies.
