In a hospital set up there are various departments from the inpatient department, outpatient department, laboratory department and the emergency department among other departments. Emergency department handles the cases that are urgent such as cuts, bruises, fractures, burns, and deep cuts among other injuries. The emergency department’s main function is to try and stabilize the patient as he or she awaits further treatment from procedures such as surgery.
