A Dependency ratio is, “a measure showing the number of dependents (aged 0-14 and over the age of 65) to the total population (aged 15-64) (Investopedia, 2015, para. 1).” This is calculated by dividing the number of dependents, by the population of individuals 15-64 year old multiplied, by 100 (Investopedia, 2015).
