Putting the best player in the middle is an offense that is designed to succeed against a 2-3 zone defense in a basketball team. Apparently, it is much common for teams to put their big man at the free throw line in the middle of the zone offense a strategy that succeeds against a 2-3 one defense. Putting the best player in the middle does not matter if they are 5’2″ (Nikolaidis, 2015).
