FAILURE TO CONTROL AN OUTBREAK OF MULTIDRUG-RESISTANT

Multidrug resistance (MDR) due to bacterial infections have been a common occurrence in the recent past in critical care (Mcbain et al., 2002). In such cases, Gram-negative bacteria are usually the main isolates obtained from elderly patients who present additional bloodstream infections[G1][G2]  (Sunenshine et al., 2007). Multidrug resistance is most likely to occur in bacterial infections since they devise ways of fighting back the therapeutic mechanisms of the drugs.
