This dissertation will analytically examine whether the new Coroners and Justice Act 2009 which replaced the defence of provocation in Homicide Act 1957 changes the law in other to protect women against aggressive men. It will engage with the aid of case law and statues in determining whether victims of domestic violence are now able to raise the defence of loss of self-control more easily and whether better protection is now being aided to those suffering from domestic violence and battered women
