A lever is a machine that consists of a bar that is rigid which rests on a pivot with the aim of lifting weights that are heavy with the least amount of effort (Rozenblit, Spivey, & Wojslawowicz, 2002). The ease of lifting weights using levers increases as the length of the rod on the pivot increases.
