The residential school system in Canada is an integration of boarding schools intended to serve the indigenous people in the region. Therefore, the purpose of creating this school system was to make children assume the dominant Canadian culture. Children are assimilated into these institutions as they seem more appropriate tool for this activity since assimilating adults would be far much difficult.
