Religion was one of the defining factors in the founding and expansion of the English colonies. As (Lambert, 2003) views, many of the people who took the voyage to the colonies were in search for religious freedom. Religion in the Colonies was diverse but was, for the most part, a form of the Christian faith. The colonies were established on rules based on the colonies founders religion and beliefs.
