According to an article by Tanya (2013), the United States is the only advanced economy without laws requiring employers to provide paid vacation for its employees. The article goes on to note that a quarter of the working population do not have paid holidays or vacations. Other countries classified as developed offer paid vacations to their workers while also having shorter work weeks.
