Sound and Waves

It has been observed that wine and water glasses make symphony noises when tapped on the side with a hard object (Ali & Hunter, 2000). When a wet finger is swiped around the rim of the wine glass, it sings like a bell. Depending on the pressure of the finger on the wine glass, it can be made loud or soft. On the other hand, the pitch and sound can be changed by adjusting the amount of water in the glass.
