Thriving in The Wake of Trauma: Self-Care

No matter if you have gone through trauma as a victim or therapist self-care is mandatory. I use the word mandatory because how can you help others if you’re not taking care of self? Also, how will a trauma victim heal if they are not taking the right coping techniques to heal their mind, body, and soul? It is important to have an outlet that you can turn to whenever you are going through something. If you don’t find something that is positive you may resort to something that is negative and that’s when self-harm come into play. Self-care can be any activity used to comfort, nurture, and maintain positivity for the survivor.
