Although there is a consensus that traveling is fun and beneficial, there is a debate on whether individuals should visit alone or with people they know, especially in anticipation of experiencing a new culture. Most people lament that they would like to travel but lack someone to accompany them on the trip. While some people prefer traveling alone due to the freedom and opportunities of making new friends, others fear to be alone in a foreign environment (Festa 1).
