Why Selfishness is Good

In order to address any aspect within the complex issue of human morality there are several questions that must first be asked. What is morality? Does morality exist such that we can prescribe particulars as being right and wrong according to some explicitly defined standard? How do we make moral judgments and what is the basis for these judgments? This paper will address an individual’s belief in the existence of and virtue in altruistic actions within the human population and will describe how evolutionary considerations may best explain the true nature and formation of said phenomena.
